*Treatment begins working as soon as pests come into contact with treated areas or baits. Some pests may emerge from their harbourage over the following weeks before exposure; this is normal. They may also return to nesting areas and die out of sight, so not seeing dead pests does not mean the treatment has not worked. How much does pest control cost?
Pesthouse pest control starts from $190 for a general preventative spray. Targeted treatments for a specific pest or an active infestation range from $230 to $600, depending on how many visits are needed to break the pest lifecycle. The average pest treatment sits between $230 and $350.
Unlike other pest control companies, we don't charge based on the size of your home, but on the pest problem at hand. Our general preventative spray is purpose created to protect your home from pests settling in and breeding.
How often should I have my home treated for pests?
Most homes should be treated once a year. If you live in an area with higher pest pressures, you may choose to have your home treated every six months.
How long does a pest control treatment take?
The treatment itself takes 30 to 60 minutes, depending on which pest treatment you require. We use quick-dry technology and family-friendly formulas, so allow about 2 hours and you can be back to business in no time.
Do I need to leave my home during pest control?
We advise that you head out for a coffee or make plans while we treat, so we can effectively treat the home without any concern or risk to you.
Is pest control safe around children and pets?
Pesthouse treatments are safe for children and pets once dry, but some care is needed while the treatment is wet. The formulas we use are the most pet and child safe available, but there are still some risks to be aware of.
While the treatment is wet, keep pets and children away so they don't touch it or put it directly in their mouths. Because we use quick-dry technology, you don't need to keep them distracted for long.

What pests are included in a general pest control treatment?
A general pest control treatment covers standard crawling pests such as cockroaches, spiders, silverfish and other standard non-infestation crawling pests.
How long does pest control last?
The residual pest treatment generally remains on your property for up to 12 months, depending on pest pressures and lifestyle.
What should I do before a pest control treatment?
Very little. Pesthouse uses barrier treatment methods, so there's no emptying cutlery drawers or rearranging furniture. Before we arrive:
- Mop beforehand if you'd like to, as we ask you not to mop for 7 days after the treatment.
- Pick up any pet food bowls, pet bedding, litter boxes and any children's toys that may enter mouths.
What should I do after pest control has been completed?
To keep your treatment working as well as possible:
- Don't mop your floors for 7 days, so the treatment can effectively adhere to the environment.
- Clean up food scraps and keep the home in a reasonably clean state to avoid competing food sources to the provided baits and treated routes.
- Skip store-bought repellents and DIY treatments, as these can counteract the pest behaviour expected to ensure an effective and lengthy treatment.
Why am I still seeing pests after treatment?
This is expected, and it's a good thing. Here's why it happens:
- Cockroaches and ants: you will see more for a period of time because we use baiting that draws pests out of their hidey-holes to come in contact with the treatment.
- Huntsman and assassin bugs: their initial food source starts dying due to the treatment, so not only do the pests start searching for food in new areas, they are also slower than usual as the treatment takes its toll, meaning you'll see them more.
Does pest control come with a warranty?
Yes. Pesthouse treatments come with a warranty that lasts a maximum of 12 months. Not all pests have the same warranty due to their individual behaviours and patterns, so if you are concerned about a particular pest, check the warranty in your booking confirmation or ask our friendly team.
