Your residents deserve
a safe home. Full stop.

People living in supported accommodation are often among the most vulnerable in our community. A pest-free environment isn't just a compliance requirement - it's a fundamental part of the safe, dignified home every resident deserves.

🏠
Residents can't simply leave
Unlike a hotel guest or office worker who can go home, SIL residents live in your facility full time. A pest problem isn't an inconvenience - it's a direct impact on the safety and quality of their permanent home. The duty of care is higher, not lower.
🛡️
NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission compliance
Registered NDIS providers are assessed against the NDIS Practice Standards, which require a safe and clean physical environment for participants. The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission can audit at any time. Documented pest management is expected evidence of your commitment to participant safety.
🦠
Health risks are amplified
Many NDIS participants have complex health needs, reduced immunity or medical conditions that make them more vulnerable to pest-borne pathogens. Cockroaches spread bacteria across kitchen surfaces. Rodents spread disease through droppings. The health consequences for vulnerable residents can be severe.
📋
Incident reporting obligations
Under the NDIS (Incident Management and Reportable Incidents) Rules, providers must have systems to manage and report incidents that affect participant safety. A significant pest infestation affecting a participant's home environment could constitute a reportable incident - prevention is always better than reporting.
❤️
Families and advocates are watching
Family members and support coordinators visit regularly and have high expectations of the living environment. A pest issue noticed by a family member or advocate can quickly escalate to a formal complaint to the NDIS Commission - with serious consequences for your registration.
NDIS Practice Standards - Module 1
NDIS providers must ensure a safe, clean and well-maintained environment for all participants.
The NDIS Practice Standards require registered providers to ensure the environments in which supports are delivered are safe and appropriate for participants. For SIL providers, this includes the physical home environment. The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission assesses this during audits. Documented evidence of regular professional pest management demonstrates your active commitment to participant safety and is expected as part of your quality management system.

Respectful. Careful.
Thorough.

Working in a home where residents live full-time requires a different approach. We treat every SIL home with the same care and respect we would show in our own home.

01
Resident-safe products only
Every product we use is safe for residential environments once dry. We use low-toxicity, targeted treatments and are mindful of residents with chemical sensitivities, respiratory conditions or complex health needs. We will always discuss product options with your team before treating.
02
Coordinated with support staff
We liaise directly with your support coordinators and house managers to schedule treatments at a time that works for residents - minimising disruption and ensuring residents are supported throughout the process. We never just arrive unannounced.
03
Full NDIS-ready documentation
Every visit produces a signed service report with all the detail your NDIS audit file needs - products used, areas treated, pest activity observed, recommendations. Ready for the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and your internal quality system.
04
Respectful of residents' home
We treat every SIL home as someone's home - not a commercial premise. We are respectful of personal belongings, mindful of noise levels and sensitive to the needs of people who may find unfamiliar visitors distressing. We take our cues from your staff.
05
Unlimited callouts
If a pest issue arises between scheduled services, call us. We come back at no extra charge. A resident's home should never have an unresolved pest issue waiting for the next quarterly visit.
